Hotel Carlota is a boutique hotel located within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Quito’s historic center. The house dates back to 1905, any for many decades was the family home of Doña Carlota Echeverría de Moreno, from whom it gets its name. Renovation and preservation of the house began in 2011 and it is now a luxury property that also prides itself on incorporating sustainable practices as well as personalized service and attention to detail. Hotel Carlota is the first hotel in the country to be LEED Certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by the U.S. Green Building Council.
This small hotel can accommodate a maximum of 35 guests. Each of the twelve rooms is decorated in a unique style. The categories are loft, suite deluxe, suite, standard queen, standard double, double, and triple. Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the hotel, laundry service is available, and guests can enjoy downtime in the reading room, with tablets and laptops for guests to use, or in the urban garden.
On the property there is a bistro restaurant, open to the public from 11:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs; a shop with local products and food to go, open 8:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs; a roof top lounge with views of the city, open to the public from 17:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs Tuesday to Friday, and 15:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs on Saturday and Sunday; and a cozy wine cellar that can be booked for tastings and other events, for guests and the public.
