The Experience
Enjoy snacks and non-alcoholic refreshments as you traverse the picturesque landscape before your arrival into Aguas Calientes. This service has a total of five cars and is a midrange option for traveling to Machu Picchu by train, providing comfort and quality. Traditional Andean dances and ‘fashion shows’ are held on the return journey from Machu Picchu.
The Vistadome train operates daily, with a range of scheduled train times to choose from. You have the option to board the Vistadome train just outside of Cusco in Poroy, or alternatively embark later on in the Sacred Valley in the town of Ollantaytambo. In addition, there are limited scheduled departures from Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado exclusively for guests of the hotel. From the Sacred Valley, the journey time to Machu Picchu is around one and a half hours.
